The era of global warming is over and we have entered the boiling age, the Secretary-General of the United Nations warns. Climate change and environmental problems are making their impact felt around the world. Now, more than ever before, we need to act urgently. Temperature increases, rising sea levels, extreme weather events and biodiversity loss are a clear sign that we are approaching boiling point. Without international cooperation and decisive action, the future of our planet is in serious danger. Together, we must seek sustainable solutions, transition to clean energy and manage natural resources more wisely to avoid the dangers of the boiling age. Climate change: Bill Gates backs Australian start-up targeting cow burps
Billionaire Bill Gates has invested in an Australian climate technology start-up that plans to reduce the methane emissions of cow burps.
The Microsoft co-founder has been outspoken about the environmental impact of meat production.
It announced in a statement that it had raised $12m (£9.7m) in a funding round led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, which Mr Gates founded in 2015.
